STEM Inspiration Days Event Held In Çorum-Alaca

An Event was Organısed ın Çorum-Alaca wıthın the Scope of ‘STEM Inspıratıon Days’

The event we organised in Çorum-Alaca within the scope of Women in STEM project, which aims to increase the participation of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields, was completed with great success. Various sessions were held focusing on topics such as introduction of STEM fields, experience sharing, opportunities abroad and Youthpass training.

Event Programme and Sessions

  • Introduction of STEM Fields: STEM fields were introduced, expert speakers explained the ways of making a career in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields and the occupational trends in these fields in the future. They also emphasised why STEM is socially and economically important.
  • Opportunities Abroad: Education and career opportunities abroad were discussed. Information was given about scholarship and exchange programmes, internship opportunities and international work opportunities in Europe. Participants were told how to apply for these opportunities and what they should do to be successful.
  • Youthpass Training: In the last session, information was given about Youthpass, which certifies participation in international youth projects. How the Youthpass certificate can be used in career development and ways to obtain this certificate were explained. This training offered an important opportunity for young people to be active in the international arena.

Esra Güntekin Soydemir Interview

One of the special guests of the event was Esra Güntekin Soydemir, an experimental flight test engineer at TAI and Turkey's first female civil helicopter pilot. Esra Güntekin Soydemir talked about her career journey, her experiences in the aviation sector and the challenges she faced in her career. Young participants attended this session with great enthusiasm and asked many questions throughout the interview. Soydemir inspired young people by sincerely answering questions about her career.
